LHU enhances global ties in Civil Engineering with ASU

On May 14, 2025, at Room B203 of LHU, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) had the honor of welcoming a delegation from Arizona State University (ASU), USA. This visit marked a promising step forward in fostering international cooperation in Civil Engineering education and research.

The meeting began with an overview of LHU’s Faculty of Civil Engineering, followed by a presentation from ASU’s representative, Dr. Samuel T. Ariaratnam who introduced two affiliated institutions: the Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) and the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE). Through the meeting, LHU leadership and faculty members gained deeper insights into ASU’s educational orientation, academic strengths, and potential opportunities for future international collaboration.

A highlight of the event was a technical seminar led by Dr. David Grau, a leading expert from SSEBE. With updated content on sustainable construction trends, modern technologies, and advanced project management models, his sharing session provided practical knowledge and served as a strong source of inspiration for faculty members and students majoring in Civil Engineering.

More than a knowledge-sharing exchange, this meeting marked a significant milestone in the Faculty of Civil Engineering’s journey toward international integration and development.
