LHU awards full scholarship to underprivileged student

On the morning of May 19, 2026, the 130th edition of the “Wings to Dreams” scholarship program was held at Le Hong Phong High School in Long Binh ward, Dong Nai city, to support Nguyen Le Tan Phat, a 12th-grade student from class 12C6 who has overcome significant hardships while maintaining outstanding academic performance.

Having earned the title of Excellent Student for 12 consecutive years, Tan Phat has nurtured a strong ambition to become a mechanical engineer. However, his journey toward university education has been filled with challenges. His family belongs to a low-income household, his father suffers from poor health, his grandparents are elderly, and the family’s daily income depends solely on paper-folding work for ceremonial offerings.

Recognizing and deeply appreciating the student’s determination and perseverance, the “Wings to Dreams” scholarship program, jointly organized by Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio-Television Station, the Dong Nai Study Promotion Association, Le Hong Phong High School, and benefactors - presented meaningful support to encourage him to confidently pursue his educational aspirations.

Notably, LHU awarded Nguyen Le Tan Phat a full scholarship valued at VND 152 million. Beyond financial assistance, the scholarship represents the University’s commitment to accompanying and empowering a resilient student to continue his journey toward achieving his dream of higher education.
